Mother's first-hand perspective shines throughout, from her leaving the Motherhouse of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament at Cornwells Heights, Pennsylvania, to all the other sights she observed on her trip. Mother describes her view of the pueblos from the railroad car, the baptism of a dying Indian child, her tour of the school, and her encounter with medicine-man Hastin Yazhi.

This edition also includes five photos taken on the trip and two contemporary maps of the Gallup area and Albuquerque showing the location of the sights she mentions.
