The Penitential Psalms
and Litany of the Saints

This traditional devotion, specially suited for Lent, goes back centuries and was not only recited by religious but also commonly prayed by the laity from Books of Hours. It consists of seven Psalms of a penitential character--6, 31, 37, 50, 101, 129, and 142--followed by the Litany of the Saints, Psalm 69, and a series of final prayers.
